Interested in writing for the Young Ladies Christian Fellowship? Here is what you need to know!
The YLCF has always been by young women, for young women–and that means you! We are always willing to consider submissions for ylcf.org. Articles can be on any topic of interest and relevance to young women. Browse our topical index for an idea of the variety in published pieces. Use your imagination!
We can not possibly publish everything submitted. We reserve the right to edit submissions for content, space, and clarity. If we make any change other than very slight editorial notes, we will get your approval on the final draft.
We try to maintain a high standard of writing quality here at YLCF. Make sure to carefully check your piece for typographical, spelling, and grammatical errors before you submit it to us. Well-edited pieces without mistakes are much more likely to be accepted. Have a trusted friend or family member read your piece to make sure it flows well, is Biblically sound, and is easy to understand. For more pointers, check out How to Write Good, OWL Handouts, and the Grammar Girl podcast transcripts.
Note: This site is for the encouragement and strengthening of young women. In keeping with our purpose, we choose (with very few exceptions) not to publish pieces designed specifically to debate a controversial topic. This is not the place for arguments or comparing theological views.
Please submit only original work that has not been submitted to any other publication. We will occasionaly consider reprinting material; please include all details of where it was previously published.
Please keep your piece to 400 words or less. Feel free to include a one-sentence biography, as well as a contact link or email address. A photo appropriate to illustrate your piece is always welcome (your own photography only, please!).
Email your piece to submissions @ ylcf.org
Please allow 2-4 weeks for a response to your submission. We can not respond to every email, nor comment on every submission. But know each one is read. You will be notified if we plan to use your article. If it is accepted, the piece may be held for a few weeks or months in order to optimize the timing of the work we publish. Thank you for your patience!
We can offer no remuneration for your work. The YLCF is a non-profit ministry, and everyone involved with the YLCF–from the writers to the web designers–helps out on a volunteer basis. But we know you will be blessed for taking the time to share your heart with other young women. We are grateful for each of our writers, and all they do to encourage every one of us!
