Editor’s Musings: Clinging to the Cross

Dear Friends,

It’s spring time again…and this issue is finally making it’s way to you!  I apologize for the long gap between issues—due to a shortage of material and a change in printing companies, I faced many delays.  I’m excited about the topics of the articles that finally came together to make this issue.  I hope you enjoy them and find it was worth the wait!

There’s something about springtime that I’ve always loved.  Maybe it’s the flowers, the refreshing rain, or the promise of sunny days ahead.  Often in life, it seems like we’re waiting for spring to come.  We may be having one of those dreary winter days, wondering what the purpose is for our long wait.  I know I’ve experienced a lot of times like those, but I’ve learned that I have to focus on clinging to the cross.  Because no matter what, Christ is there for us.  And if we cling to His promises, and just trust in His Word, we can be assured that springtime will come, and then we’ll see in full His goodness and mercies, and realize why we had to go through the winter.

I’m clinging to the Cross,
Though doubts and fears assail.
I must trust the Lord.
His will shall prevail.

My hands often slip,
As I reach for worldly things.
But Christ must be my all,
So to this cross I’ll cling.

Through joy and through trials,
He will faithful be.
So I’ll cling to the cross,
Simply trust and obey.

May you find joy and peace while trusting in Him!

Clinging to the Cross,
Gretchen Louise
