guiding principles

Following are the principles that have guided the YLCF since it’s founding.  They were first put to paper and published in the YLCF Journal in 1999, appearing in every issue after that, as well as on the “about” page of ylcf.org, until 2009 when they were expanded into our Mission & Values.

The Young Ladies Christian Fellowship is a website by and for Christian teen girls and their families, promoting purity and character.

Our desire is to encourage young ladies in living our lives fully unto Jesus, loving Him with all of our heart, soul, and mind. We strive to encourage each other in redeeming the time, using this season of singleness for God’s glory. By waiting on the Lord, resting completely in His love, there will be found a peace beyond description. We believe that a young woman’s purity is very special to the Savior, and our goal is to save both our heart and body for our future husband by giving them now to our Heavenly Bridegroom.

We endeavor to raise a high standard and yet present a balanced Biblical perspective: we do not advocate a list of man-made rules (outward symbols of submission mean nothing when our hearts are not fully His), nor do we want to fit in with the world (we are to be a shining light, setting an example–we must dare to be different for His sake, for our actions speak louder than our words).
