Our Bookshelves

A room without books is like a body without a soul.
-Cicero

Click the images for captions and close-up views of the bookshelves of the YLCF Team Members (those who aren’t in the midst of cross-country moves and beginning deployment, that is!).  And start taking pictures of your own books: we’re having a bookshelf photo carnival next week!

I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves.

Hehe…I’m seeing a lot of the same books on your shelves as on mine, Gretchen! ;)

I’m a book lover myself so I enjoyed peeking into your libraries. Lanier, I’ve collected Grace Livingstone Hill’s books from I was a teenager and have a shelf dedicated to them as well. Gretchen, I spotted a Bobbsey Twins mystery on you shelf that took me back to my childhood years.
    Thanks for sharing your treasures.

Thank you for a fun ten minutes in the middle of my day! :) And thank you so much for sharing pictures of your bookshelves …

I’m looking forward to the carnival next week! :)

Gretchen – I laughed out loud when I saw a copy of “Milly Molly Mandy” on one of your bookshelves. I was brought up on the many adventures of Milly Molly Mandy! I hope your little girls love the stories!

Oh, Ladies! How wonderful to get a peek at your beautiful bookshelves! May I ask you, Lanier, about the set of red volumes on the fourth shelf down in your glass-doored case? Are they from the Harvard Classics series? I only ask because they remind me of the set of those that my grandma has in her library.

Thanks again for posting these wonderful pictures! :-)

What delight in immediately recognizing the Susan Wise Bauer book on Lanier’s shelf! I have the very same with big dreams of following the reading plans. If only I could convince my children that I need that uninterrupted time. ;-)
