We don't see them often--they live on the other side of the country--and my grandfather is starting to sound old even on the phone. He is not young anymore (82), and your post is a good reminder to savor each moment when I do see him. As you said, each visit may be the last. She's 96 and lives with us. Each night I wonder if after she has wished me love her lips will than be greeting Jesus. My husband and I are leaving for a year- going on the mission field. I'm excited but as I was writing out birthday cards for my nieces and scrawled "Happy 4th Birthday" across them- my heart broke. A year is a long time for a little one...<br/><br/>The last time I left my grandfather died. I came home and got married and he wasn't there to see it. <br/><br/>Yet, you're right: "Blessed be the name of the Lord." <br/>We are so blessed to have each moment.
