Yesterday I watched dark storm clouds marching towards us, over the mountains and then, after a few hours of hearing the distant thunder, the storm burst upon us, and it began to rain. Then it poured, and poured and with each lightning strike, it seemed to rain a little harder.
The wind, the rushing of the rain, the echos of the thunder all drew me to stand out on the deck and soak up some of the moment, and when I stood out there, looking at the sky, feeling the raindrops on my face, and the wind in my hair, I saw the raindrops on the pine trees. Each needle carried it’s own little drop, each one being replaced faster and faster with a new one from the sky, yet reflecting for that brief moment, a picture of the world around them, and the sky above. It was as if in each little water droplet, for the little moment of its whole ‘life’, God had taken time to paint a masterpiece.
Is it not the same with our lives--which are but for a moment in view of eternity--if we will only let Him paint in us the picture of His love, His life, His image?
It was that picture that I took with me as I turned back to finish the canning and to clean the house, renewed in a deeper way in my heart, to let Him paint in my life His image.
This was simply so beautiful Chantel..you always write such poignant and powerful stories and even though it was about rain drops on pine trees there was such beauty in the images and story you were telling..”"CLAPPING”
amazing piece!! it touched me so much Yes you are right We are like the pine trees with rain drops that are so beautiful, We are God’s masterpieces too, and all we have to do it JUST Let God do his work in US by us reading HIS word HIS truth and HIS wonderful love letter to us, for us to pray and to help others, and to give charity..and if we do all that, HE will definitely reap huge rewards in you..You will be like that tree with great fruit (read John 15) where God says that we can do nothing without Him..we just have to remember to surrender and LET Him build us in His image..it’s that simple. well thank you Chantel so much for such raw beautiful writing I love it!
