Earlier this week a friend gave me Outrageous Love by Sheila Walsh. ‘Tis a beautiful, rich book. Sheila refuses to let fear hinder her from being painfully real. The ugliness of a life in a fallen world is made beautiful by the One Who Heals. One quote especially stood out to me this evening as I was reading….
Have you longed for a place where you come as you are and are welcomed every time? There is such a place. Welcome to the mane of the Lion of Judah where all God’s children can bury their faces when they are sad, celebrate when they are glad, rest when they are tired, and find fresh vision and purpose when they are ready to live again. You love me again today, Lord?
Where do you find this love?
Is there no depth to the well that is you?
There is no depth to the well of need that is me.
So I come again and again and again and again
Fresh water pours over me, washes me, and restores the battered places.
Battered by the choices I have made
And the roles that I have played
I worship you
Fount of never ending love
God of this outrageous love
I worship you.

Beautiful……

That is a beautiful quotation.
I loved the poem, Natalie. It really touched me. Thanks for sharing the post.

Thanks Natalie, for the excerpt from “Outrageous Love”
That poem is so encouraging…God’s love for us never ceases to amaze me, unworthy sinners that we are!
I definately will be reading that book! My prayers are with you as you start your newest adventure in Alaska!
