Lanier, I was thinking about you today and very glad to see your post when I stopped by here. 1 Corinthians has been my reading this month and the verses about God using the "weak and foolish things" to accomplish His good purpose always jump up at me. I am not weak and foolish enough in the right way.On the days when I feel the tears behind my eyes more than the smiles I know God would have me stop and listen for His voice of comfort or direction. Thank you for letting me know I am not alone. Love you, Bekah

Lanier,

Thank you, as always, for the encouraging posts! I'm so glad that God never allows us to be satisfied on a lower level, as Oswald Chambers says. The Lord is so gracious!

The biggest blessings in my life have come from my weakest moments; the richest seasons have been when the Lord Himself was my only light and I could but creep forward slowly, often painfully, by His grace.

This reminds me of something one of my pastors once said. He said the most powerful sermons he preached were when he was so sick that he literally had to use the pulpit to prop himself up. It was because he had to rely wholly on God during those sermons. He said it made him start looking forward to flu season :).
