So glad that some of you girls enjoyed Project Gutenberg...

Lanier, do you have the name and/or address of the little book shop? I will be in Fayetteville, GA next month and just might be able to squeeze in a trip!

Ahhh. The HUNT for old books. :)
We used to have two quaint old bookstores downtown; one was Ruth's books, the other I don't remember. They are both now gone, but I did love to spend an afternoon perusing. Once day I found both an old copy of Mother Carey's Chickens (which I have read many times since) and a beautiful illustrated Old Fashioned girl by L. M. Alcott.

Lovely!

I always wished my mother had taught us to speak and read French (she took four years of it at her girl's preparatory high school).

Sounds like a perfectly delightful (and exhilerating!) outing -- have fun! Though, I'm sure you won't have a problem doing so. :o)

When you get the chance, it would be neat to hear about the treasures you've found in this particular book shop.

~Chelsea
