That was a lovely, charming post Lanier. Thank you for putting a smile on my face before bedtime (it's 23:23 here in England!)

I feel the seeds of sin in my heart, and I find them even more frightening at the thought that they will spring up some day and hurt someone I love. I know that God's love can overcome all, but I also know I am a fallen human being. I must admit that I do fear the pain that I and the imagined "he" will encounter on the way to overcoming. I must admit that I would rather be hurt myself and forgive another than hurt the other person myself. I suspect furthermore that all this is part of the sin of wanting to be in control of things. ;) So I look forward to working through these fears one day...

Beautiful post, Lanier!

The sunshine of God’s presence, the gentle showers of His good Word are essential. But the dirt must be cleared of rocks and thorns, and the wrenching of weeds must be performed on a daily basis. Hearts must be laid bare to His searching gaze, like soft, tilled beds. That reminds me of Mary in the Bible who sat at Jesus' feet taking every word that He spoke. And that (soaking in Jesus' words as refeshing rain) would and could not be taken away from her...or us!:)

~Allison
