There’s something very satisfying about washing a counter full of dishes.
There’s something freeing about filling a garbage can with papers you decided you didn’t need.
There’s a great sense of completion after patching up a pair of dilapadated work pants so they have a few more years of work left in them.
And there will be a great sigh of relief when I finish helping my mother with her inventory today.
Meanwhile, go read my big little brother’s great post on work over at his blog.

thanks Gretchen, u gave me the kick and insperation i needed to do those long standing chores that i never feel like getting round to.
Yes, there really is something very satisfying about washing a counter full of dishes. Sometimes it feels like I spend the whole day staring out the window, washing dishes. Then the Lord pops something truly insiprational into my head, a memory, a thought of someone dear or often an answer to prayer!

Also i think theres something peaceful and calming about singing your favourite hyme whilst washing the dishes.
