Singing in the Rain

I’ve loved the rain ever since I was a little girl. Which is a good thing, considering that I grew up in one of the wettest, greenest valleys in the West!

But rain every single day since the beginning of the year is a little much. The sun has come out a grand total of two times, I think. (One of them, incidentally, when I was on the phone with the one I love. The next time I talked to him, it was after dark, so the sun only came out in my room, not outside.)

I’m ready for spring! But wait, it’s only halfway through January. And around here, instead of saying April showers bring May flowers, we’ve decided that May showers bring June flowers!

I’m the kind of girl who drinks my water from a quart-sized Mason jar with a handle. But with all the rain, I haven’t been as thirsty. Instead I’ve sipped hot tea or coffee. Bad me!

So I’m off to walk through the rain to get the newspaper, then I’ll fill my mug with water (despite the yummy smelling coffee Mom just brewed) and read the Psalms for the day.

Don’t forget to sing in the rain today!
