Of kittens and green tea

Outside darkness melts over the forest. Two kittens purr on a velvet cushion near my feet, and green tea steams from a blue willow china cup on the table. Being in Lanier’s den is like an instant transport to Green Gables on Prince Edward Island. From the moment I saw her white farmhouse with the green roof and shutters, rocking chairs on the porch, and stone steps over a century old, I have been blissfully savoring every detail of this visit.

I do not think Lanier and I stopped talking from the moment I stepped inside until now. She is even more precious and delightful in person than I imagined–a true Southern belle and lady who has welcomed me into her home with graciousness and warmth far above and beyond the call of duty. I cannot tell you what a wonderful time I am having!

Excuse me while I go cuddle and kiss those kittens…

    YES! Please share pictures.

Have you ever been to PEI/Green Gables? It’s ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!!! You and Gretchen would do well in a place like Prince Edward Island. It is so romantic. Wish I could have gone with “my man.” (If only I *had* a man!)

No Bethany, I’ve never been to PEI, but Gretchen has. I truly feel like I lived it out in GA though. :)
