On being mommy

Mom called me while I was being mommy today…I hung up and felt for all the world like the young wife I hope to be in a few years. See, I’m a nanny and so for 8-10 hours a day I take care of 2 year old Chase and 4 year old Sophie…”Uncle” Sawyer (aka my littlest bro) even came to visit today. Chase loved that–in fact he was quite upset when Sawyer had to leave. I may be fun but I’m not as much fun as another boy. ;-)
It was so strange because I had this weird look into what it might be like in 5-6 years when I really AM letting my bro come into my home and play with my 4 and 2 year old children. :-) Very fun. I love my job because I get to be a real-life mommy now–it’s just too bad I don’t get the husband coming home and giving me kisses at the end of it–But yeah, it’s neat. And I get to care for two pretty cute little kids in a beautiful home and we go play in the meadow back of their house and can see the horses grazing in the pasture, hear roosters crow, and see forest all around….it’s simply lovely. And they only live one street over from me so it’s easy to have family “visit” me at “my” house. :-)
